Brett began his career as an accountant in 1993 in Port Kembla NSW, initially gaining experience in internal and information systems audit, fraud and digital forensic investigations and financial systems roles before focusing on forensic accounting.

He has been involved in a broad range of forensic accounting assignments across a variety of industries including government instrumentalities and non-government organisations (NGOs), wine production, meat processing, health, financial services, telecommunications, not-for-profit, leisure and tourism, and retail. His experience extends to business valuations, litigation support roles in family law matters and commercial disputes, personal injury economic loss calculations, fraud risk assessment and management and complex fraud investigation and prosecutions.
