After an exceptional career spanning more than four decades in insolvency, restructuring and business recovery, Ian Purchas has announced his retirement as a Director of SV Partners.
Ian is widely regarded as one of Australia’s most respected insolvency and restructuring professionals. As a Registered Liquidator, he has built a distinguished career founded on technical expertise, commercial judgement and an unwavering commitment to achieving practical outcomes.
Joining SV Partners in 2013, throughout his career, Ian has advised businesses, financiers, professional advisers and stakeholders through complex and often challenging circumstances, earning the trust and respect of clients and peers alike.
Ian’s contribution extends well beyond his client work. He has served on the Financial Reporting Council, been actively involved in professional and industry organisations, and regularly shared his expertise through television, radio and print media commentary on restructuring and insolvency matters. Through these contributions, Ian has helped shape discussion within the profession while strengthening the reputation of SV Partners and the broader insolvency community.
Over the past 13 years, Ian has made a significant contribution to the success of SV Partners. His leadership, professionalism and commitment to clients have helped shape our business, while his willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues has left a lasting impact on our people and culture.
While Ian is retiring from his position as Director, we are delighted that he will remain closely connected to SV Partners as a Consultant. Clients, referrers and colleagues will continue to benefit from his knowledge, experience and insight, and we look forward to his ongoing involvement as a valued adviser and friend of the firm.
